Bridge Hotel & Spa Overview

A warm welcome awaits at the Bridge Hotel & Spa, Wetherby. This former 17th century coaching inn features a spa with a thermal suite; a lovely restaurant offering carvery, grill and market menus; and a unique bar with oak panelling and an original inglenook fireplace. The hotel is a short drive from Junction 46 of the A1(M), 3 miles north of Wetherby and well placed for visiting the historic city of York, the spa town of Harrogate and vibrant Leeds, with direct rail links to all three cities from Wetherby.

The bedrooms at the Wetherby hotel have been refurbished with digital TV and free WiFi. The Courtyard Restaurant with its Oak beams and high ceilings, offers a choice of freshly individually prepared dishes or the carving table. Light snacks can be enjoyed in the Byron Bar, with its 250 year old bar oak panelling and historic inglenook fireplace.

The hotel provides a free courtesy car shuttle service on request in advance for any guest staying at the hotel who arrives or leaves from Cattal Railway Station or Wetherby Coach Station, both 2 miles away. Guests at the Bridge can explore the City of York with no parking problems, which is a direct 15 minute train ride to York city centre from Cattal Railway station. The courtesy car shuttle service is also available for guests to offices in Wetherby town and major industrial estates up to 3 miles away.

Club Double or Twin - Club Rooms have been individually designed and are 200 sq ft in size. These more luxurious rooms feature custom made cherry or oak wood furniture, 5ft wide beds, DVD players with a complimentary film collection at reception, a welcome tray including a decanter of port, local mineral water, and luxury chocolates. Mostly located on the ground floor.

Hotel Heritage & History

As the name suggests, The Bridge owes its existence to the bridge that crosses the nearby River Nidd, which dates back to the 12th century. Records show Drovers stayed at the Inn as far back as the 17th century. By the 1800's The Bridge was a renowned coaching house for stagecoaches.

How to find us

By Road

From Manchester Airport - From the airport travel north up the M56, continue forward onto the A5103 branch left and join the M60, head north towards the M62. Join the M62 signposted Leeds. Travel north and leave the M62 at Junction 29 and join the M1 signposted the North. Continue up the M1 till you join the A1(M) and then carry on to the A1, take junction 46 off the A1 signposted for Wetherby racecourse, and follow the brown signs indicating the Bridge Inn from here.

From the M1 motorway - Travel north up the M1 onto the A1(M), continue travelling up the A1 and take Junction 46 for Wetherby Racecourse, follow the brown signs for the Bridge Inn.

From York City Centre - Follow the B1227 north, then continue forward onto the A1306 keep following this road till you come to signs for the A59 Harrogate, carry on along this road till you spot signs for the A168, then follow signs for Walshford and you will arrive at the hotel.

There is ample free parking on site.
