Broadway is considered by many to be the centrepiece of the Cotswolds and a superb base from which to explore the region's attractions. Honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings, bedecked with colourful splashes of pink-purple wisteria, and orderly Chestnut trees line the main thoroughfare. Overlooking the village green is the charming Broadway Hotel, its traditional stone and half-timbered structure a prominent feature of this archetypal English country village.

Broadway has justifiably earned a reputation as one of the most beautiful villages in England - an unspoilt haven surrounded by beautiful, rolling countryside and a 'must-see' during any tour of the Cotswolds.
Visitors to the region will discover the pretty village at the northen edge of the Cotswolds, where the local stone displays its strongest golden hues. The village, once part of the estate controlled by the Abbot of Pershore, literally derives its name from the wide, tree-lined High Street or 'broad way' that runs through its centre. During the 1600s it became a key staging post along the Worcester to London route and in later Victorian Times the village attracted artists and writers from afar. High above the village the Broadway Tower commands views across the Vale of Evesham to the Severn Valley, the Black Mountains and beyond.
The Broadway Hotel itself is tightly intertwined with the history of the village. The main hotel building is picture-postcard sight, constructed from local mellow limestone with one black and white timbered wing. Inside, great care has been taken to create a charming country style atmosphere using rich colours and contemporary designer fabrics. A minstrel's gallery oversees the superb Courtyard Restaurant and guests can recline in front of the open stone fireplace in the lounge during the winter months.
Today, visitors from London can reach Broadway by train or car in under two hours. The village is ideally placed for exploring the multitude of glorious attractions in the area, from the fascinating collections at nearby Snowshill Manor to the splendour of Blenheim Palace and Broughton Castle. Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare country and Warwick are also within a short drive of the hotel.
