Set on the Chatsworth Estate, in the glorious Peak District National Park, the Cavendish Hotel is the nearest hotel to Chatsworth House - a delightful 15-minute stroll to the doorstep of this world-famous historic house. The Cavendish Hotel offer guests luxurious accommodation, celebrated gourmet dining in its award-winning restaurant and a truly wonderful setting with magnificent countryside views.

Just how far back the Cavendish Hotel dates, no one knows. Originally called the Peacock Inn, the hotel became a part of the Duke of Devonshire's family estate in 1830, when it was acquired from the Duke of Rutland, and was renamed 'Cavendish' following extensive renovations in 1975. Indeed, the Duchess selected the decor and furnishings herself, some of which come from Chatsworth House.

All 23 bedrooms at the Cavendish Hotel have magnificent views over the Chatsworth Estate. Bedrooms are spacious and luxuriously appointed, many with antique furniture and fine art, and all with little luxuries, such as mini bars. Complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen digital TVs and private en suite bathrooms come as standard. Many of the Superior Inn Rooms, located in the oldest part of the hotel, feature original iron fireplaces and four poster or king size beds. Set over two floors, The Redesdale Suite indulges those who seek the ultimate in luxury and features its very own living room with an open fire.

The Gallery Restaurant boasts Two AA Rosette fine dining in sumptuous surrounds - luxuriant hues of duck egg blue and pale silver, soft lighting and, of course, beautiful views. From M1: J29 take A617 westwards to Chesterfield
and A619 to Baslow, signposted Baslow, Bakewell,
Buxton and Chatsworth. The Cavendish is in the village centre.

From Northwest (Manchester): take A6 southeast through Stockport, signposted Buxton; after Chapel en le Frith, turn left A623 (signposted Chesterfield) to Baslow. The Cavendish is in the village centre.

From Southwest: M6 J17, take A534 to Congleton, A54 to Buxton, A6 to Bakewell and A619 to Baslow. The Cavendish is in the village centre.
