Just 2 miles from Manchester Airport, Etrop Grange is an ideal airport stopover, however, a trip to Manchester airport needn't be just for travel. Visit the Runway Visitor Park for panoramic views over both runways and a collection of historic aircraft as well as the Concorde G-BOAC, pride of the British Airways supersonic fleet, under cover at Manchester Airport's Runway Visitor Park.

Manchester city centre is 9 miles and only 15 minutes by train from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station. Famous for its legendary music and club scene, excellent designer shopping, the best ever nightlife, for the reintroduction of the trams, and last but not least, as the home of Coronation Street and the Manchester Football teams. The city offers fascinating award winning museums, galleries and theatres complementing its stunning architecture. There are a myriad of restaurants, stylish café bars and live music pubs.

Just a short drive away is Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. Nicknamed the 'Theatre of Dreams', this impressive stadium has a capacity of over 76,000.

A visit to the Quarry Bank Mill & Styal Estate (a National Trust site) is a must. Once one of Britain's greatest industrial heritage sites, it includes a complete working Georgian cotton mill, powered by Europe's most powerful working waterwheel. Events and activities go on throughout the year here.

Tatton Park is close by, perfect for all the family, the farm provides a picture of rural life where time has stood still since the 1930s and traditional breeds are still resident. Children can feed the goats and hens, meet the pigs and donkeys and visit Aunt Mary's 1930s cottage. Today it is still an authentic working farm that uses traditional farming methods and has recently been given Rare Breeds Accreditation for its commitment to helping to sustain rare breed farm animals.

The Peak District and Cheshire Plains are a short drive offering a relaxed and enjoyable day out.
