As its name suggests, this Moreton-in-Marsh hotel was formerly a 16th century Manor House. The original building of the Manor House Hotel has been carefully renovated and extended to remain in keeping with the relaxed feel of a country home. The Manor House Hotel has many unique period features including a priest's hole and mysterious secret passages.

There are 38 en suite bedrooms at this Cotswold hotel and each has its own distinctive character, sumptuous decor and a fine view of either the pretty hotel gardens or the historic High Street. Manor House Hotel guests have a range of rooms to choose from including the country house style Suite and the Four Poster Room which has open fireplaces and window seats.

The award-winning Mulberry Restaurant at the Manor House Hotel has a celebrated reputation for its fine cuisine. This highly acclaimed Cotswold restaurant has an imaginative menu based around traditional English cuisine, using only the freshest local produce.

A bistro menu is available in the contemporary Mulberry Bar where you can sink into a cosy sofa or relax over a delicious meal. The chic bar at the Manor House Hotel is renowned for its excellent cocktail list which features unique concoctions using the fruit from the 300 year-old Mulberry Tree in the hotel gardens.

The Manor House Hotel is a Cotswold hotel for all seasons. During the summer, the tranquil gardens offer a relaxing oasis with a sun terrace and shady spots under the ancient Mulberry tree and oak tree. During the winter months, guests can relax with afternoon tea by a crackling log fire in the cosy hotel.

The Manor House Hotel caters for meetings and events and can accommodate up to 120 delegates. The spacious conference rooms are all fully equipped, and have tea and coffee break areas. This Cotswold hotel offers individually tailored team-building.

The new cottage features a sitting room and dining room on the ground floor, spacious bedroom on the first floor along with luxurious bath suite (with flat-screen television), looking onto the gardens and walk in double shower. Within its private landscaped garden Apple Cottage also has its own terrace area and private hot tub to warm up those chilli nights! Guests can choose to take breakfast and dinner in the hotel, alternatively full room service may be provided in your cottage.

Hotel Heritage & History

It was King Henry VIII who granted the Manor House to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster in the year 1539.

Eventually ownership passed to the Creswyke family. It is believed that the present building dates back to 1545. A direct line can be traced to Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon who married the Duke of York, later to become King George VI, who stayed in the hotel during the Second World War.

How to find us

By Road

From the North - take Junction 15 of the M40 and the A429 south to Cirencester.

From the South - take Junction 9 off the M5 and follow the A46 to Evesham and the A44 Oxford Road to Moreton-in-Marsh. Turn right down the A429 and the hotel is 500 yards on the left hand side.

From London - take Junction 8 off the M40 onto the A40 towards Oxford. Turn onto the A44 signposted Evesham, directly onto Moreton-in-Marsh. Turn left at the mini roundabout and the hotels is 700 yards on the left.
