The Royal Marine Hotel is a real gem of a Scottish Highlands hotel. The town of Brora is situated at the mouth of the River Brora and the surrounding countryside is truly unspoilt - dramatic hills, peaceful lochs and sandy beaches, filled with history and mystical Highland tales. The Royal Marine Hotel is an elegant Edwardian-style hotel renowned for its fine dining and Highland links golf course. It is 2 minute's walk from stretches of pristine, sandy beaches and is an hour's drive north of Inverness, the captital of The Highlands. The Royal Marine Hotel features a leisure club with indoor pool and a range of spa treatments are available.

Renowned Scottish architect, Sir Robert Lorimer, originally designed the Royal Marine as a private residence. The building dates back to 1913 and its impressive architectural features - a grand staircase, a wooden arched entrance hall, a snooker room and the formal Sir Robert Lorimer Dining Room - give the hotel a real depth of character and period charm.

A well-equipped leisure club provides guests with the welcome opportunity to wind down in whichever way they prefer, whether it's a dip in the pool, a relaxing spa bath or a short spell in the sauna or steamroom. Beauty treatments are also available.

Brora has its own traditional Scottish Highland links golf course, designed by James Braid, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and seascape. A short drive away golfers can also pay a visit to the challenging and World Famous Championship Course at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

Vistors to the area will discover a wealth of things to see and do. The spectacular Dunrobin Castle, restored by Sir Robert Lorimer, is just six miles from the hotel, and Brora itself is home to the Clynelish whisky distillery. Anglers can enjoy salmon fishing on either the River Brora or Loch Brora. The hotel has boats to hire for loch fishing and bikes to hire.

The hotel can cater for up to 70 delegates in the largest of its three meeting rooms and is an hour or so distant from Inverness Airport.

The Links Apartments are a collection of luxury, beautifully appointed apartments adjacent to the golf course. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area have picture windows looking out over the breathtaking views of the golf course and golden coast line. Each Apartment has two en-suite double or twin bedrooms and fully-fitted kitchen equipped and finished to the highest specifications. These apartments are self-catering and have full access to the hotels restaurant, bar and leisure facilities and are ideal for golfing parties, groups of friends, etc.

Brora is one hour's drive north of Inverness, along the A9 towards Wick and John O'Groats. After crossing the bridge over the River Brora, take the first right turn. Continue along the road for half a mile until you reach the hotel.
