Local Attractions

Woodbridge is a beautiful, ancient market town on the River Deben where ancient and modern buildings rub shoulders and has long been one of East Suffolk's most desirable places to visit. The Woodbridge Museum tells the history of the town with historical data stretching back 1,400 years.

The traditional high street is home to many boutiques and shops, including over one hundred specialist shops. There are plenty of places to eat and drink with a wide selection of restaurants and café bars and you'll always find a friendly welcome. Explore the narrow streets and discover the Tudor timber framed buildings, a Victorian windmill and two fascinating museums on Market Hill.

Take a riverside stroll along the front of the River Deben, where there is sailing, model boats, and cruising, rowing and boat builders. It is also an ideal spot to bird watch with heron, oyster catchers and curlow to name a few being regularly spotted.

From Woodbridge you can explore the joys of the surrounding county ranging from atmospheric beaches to world famous historic sites. Some nearby attractions you will find just outside of Woodbridge include the famous Bawdsey Radar Station, Easton Farm Park, Sutton Hoo, an ancient Anglo Saxon burial site, and Shawsgate Vineyard.
