An exhibition is taking place at Kendal Museum over the next few months, which may attract those staying at luxury hotels in the Lake District.

The Auld Grey Town is a display of the work of Green Door artists, who explore the life and vitality of their surroundings.

Green Door is a not-for-profit artists' co-operative that helps to bring local artists together and make contemporary art more accessible to those living in the area.

Anyone checking into Kendal hotels over the next few months will be able to see the exhibit, as it is being held in the museum's main temporary exhibition space until January 20th 2012.

It is expected that hotels in Keswick will do good business next year, as the area welcomes its annual mountain festival once again.

A number of events have already sold out, leading organisers to anticipate another bumper year.
