Bradford proves a hit with Yorkshire hotel visitors
Bradford, although perhaps one of the lesser known areas of Yorkshire, has many top attractions to offer visitors staying at hotels in Yorkshire, an expert has said.
Peter Myers, a representative from Welcome to Yorkshire, noted that the region is constantly being redeveloped to enhance its tourism offering.
"Some of the attractions [include] the National Media Museum, Saltaire which is a World Heritage site and the fact that [Bradford is] the world's first City of Film," he noted.
Mr Myers, the tourism body's West Yorkshire area director, acknowledged just how important visitors are to the region, as they bring in around £300 million per year.
He added that Bradford is a particular hit with theatre-goers, as it offers both the Alhambra Theatre and St George's Hall.
It was recently found by the National Trust that many people are foregoing their traditional two-week annual holiday in favour of several smaller breaks throughout the year.
