Broadway Arts Festival to take place next month

The Broadway Arts Festival will take place next month, giving travellers the perfect reason to book a one night spa break to celebrate the heritage of the Cotswolds.

The festival will run from June 9th to June 17th, boasting an array of remarkable events that showcase some of the best art works in the region.

Among these attractions is Country Gardens: John Singer Sargent RA, Alfred Parsons RA and their contemporaries, which will be hosted at Haynes Fine Art and features more than 20 oils and watercolour designs from the acclaimed garden designer.

John Singer Sargent, Lawrence Alma Tadema, John Constable, Lucien Pissaro and several other artists will also have their work exhibited as part of the show after it is launched by Sir Roy Strong.

It will be running until the end of the festival, meaning that visitors will have ample time to catch the event.

As part of the festival, a national art competition has been organised under the theme of "In The Garden", with the winner set to pick up the John Singer Sargent Prize as well as £1,000 in cash.

The deadline for entries has already passed, but visitors will be certain to see work from some of the UK's best up-and-coming art talents.

As well as launching the festival, Sir Roy Strong will hold a talk on June 9th, when he will reveal details behind the making of The Laskett Gardens, which were created by him and his late wife over the course of the last four decades.

This will give visitors a compelling insight into how Sir Roy approaches his work and is a must-see for all fans of the design expert.

Furthermore, the Broadway Arts Festival will host a talk from Marion Mako, who will elaborate on Alfred Parsons work, before taking travellers on a tour of Russell House's garden, which was formerly the home of American painter Francis D. Millet.
