Buzzing weekend ahead at the Lake District national park
Those checking into country house hotels in the Lake District this weekend (June 25th and 26th) may want to try their hand at some bee-themed activities.
Brockhole Visitor Centre will be hosting a number of events throughout the weekend, all of which are inspired by bees.
Among the activities on offer will be face painting, quiz trails, garden tours, badge making and observation hives, to name but a few.
Mike Clarke, Brockhole manager, commented: "With honey on the cafe menu and local honey to buy in the shop, it's going to 'bee' a very exciting weekend, and everyone is welcome."
Frequent visitors of hotels in Windermere were recently asked to voice their opposition to plans to sell off forests throughout the Lake District.
Save Lakeland's Forests and Friends of the Lake District are spearheading the campaign, which seeks to gain people's views on the matter by the end of next month.
