Complement a Lake District holiday with some fantastic events

Selecting a holiday package this summer could be a challenging task due to the wide range of exciting locations on offer throughout Britain.

However, Lake District walking holidays have proven particularly popular in recent years, with people flocking in high numbers to the area in order to enjoy its splendid views and wonderful charm.

The region offers a serene atmosphere, meaning that people who want to enjoy a relaxing break in the coming months should look no further for somewhere where they can truly get away from it all.

Upon arrival, visitors will find that there are plenty of activities for them to indulge in, but one in particular that has helped to draw thousands of people to the Lake District is walking.

The area's spectacular landscape means that it is the perfect destination for individuals to explore, with dozens of hills and streams making it also a great place for some photography.

Whether visitors are seasoned ramblers or completely new to the activity, it doesn't matter, as there are a selection of trails that will cater for people's individual levels of experience.

After the Lake District's glorious environment has been explored people can also sample some of the region's fantastic comedy events.

One comic who is scheduled to appear in the region in the near future is Matt Nolan, who will bring his show Matt Nolan Comes Again to the Cheltenham Playhouse on June 9th.

It follows a sold out show last summer and guarantees equal doses of slapstick comedy and side-splitting visual jokes, while two unannounced comics are also set to support.

Not only is the Cheltenham Playhouse offering comedic fun, but it has also a scheduled a legendary production for July, when William Shakespeare's The Tempest will launch.

This new version of the classic play is directed by Pat Hobday and is presented in association with the Shakespeare 2012 project, injecting new life into one of the most revered works in history.
