Cotswolds food festivals to be tasty events for visitors
Food-lovers visiting the Cotswolds will be in for a treat this year with not one, but three festivals occurring over the coming months.
The events follow on from the huge success of last year's North Cotswold Food and Farming Festival, which was in its inaugural appearance. The region is known for its local produce and visitors looking for fine dining in the Cotswolds will be able to get a taste of what to expect.
The Cotswold Journal reports that the first Food and Farming Festival of 2012 will take place on Sunday May 13th, before another one is held as we head into autumn on Sunday September 30th. A Christmas flavour could be in the air when the final event of the year takes place on Sunday December 2nd, with all of the exhibitions being held at Adam Henson's Cotswold Park Farm.
A number of local companies have already confirmed that they will be manning stalls, including Sophie's Baked Delights, The Cotswold Chocolate Company, Love My Cow and Farm Dorn.
Last year, hot and cold food was available to buy, while farm machinery was also on display so that visitors could see how country life is managed. Rob Rees, The Cotswold Chef, was also present and he carried out live cooking demonstrations to enthralled audiences.
"Everyone at the Cotswold Farm Park has a real passion for British farming at its core. The North Cotswold Food and Farming Festival is a great way to promote both farming and local food producers – many of whom are either diversified farmers or source their ingredients locally," said Mr Henson.
He went on to tell the Cotswold Journal that the event gives locals, and visitors to the area, an insight into the countryside and "a chance to sample some of the great delights on offer".
Entrance to the festival is free and doors will open at 10.30am on each day, giving guests plenty of time to do some walking after their indulging
