Drayton Manor Theme Park 'top choice for Cotswold guests'
There could be a surge in the number of people opting for a Cotswold hotel stay after a nearby attraction walked away with a prestigious award.
Earlier this week, the 2010 Group Leisure Awards honoured Drayton Manor Theme Park by giving it the top prize in the best UK attraction for children category.
The night was one of the biggest events for the British travel industry and receiving the accolade is likely to encourage more visitors to the area, who might choose to stay in a nearby hotel in the Cotswolds before venturing to the theme park.
Other winners included Virgin Atlantic for best airline for groups and the Royal Ascot for best event for groups 2009/2010.
Earlier this month, VisitEngland's Business Confidence Monitor for accommodation businesses revealed that staycations remain a popular holiday choice for British travellers.
It also showed that 76 per cent of tour operators said that between June and August 2010 their business had either increased or remained unchanged compared with records from the same period in 2009.
