Explore the history of Gustav Holst in the Cotswolds
Choosing where to visit on holiday this year can be a difficult, albeit exciting task, with the UK offering a number of options to travellers who are searching for a one night spa break.
However, one region that is sure not to disappoint is the Cotswolds, where people can savour a number of fantastic attractions, alongside some of the UK's most beautiful scenery.
Visitors can explore the beautiful landscape by embarking on one of the many walks available, which enable people to see nature in its purest form, away from the busy nature of many British locations.
While the tremendous walking routes will offer plenty of enjoyment, as well as opportunities for some idyllic photographs, the Cotswolds has much more to offer than its sensational scenery.
For example, the region is home to the Gustav Holst Birthplace Museum, where people can gain a unique insight into the career of one of the UK's most celebrated composers.
Holst was born in Cheltenham in 1874, before going on to become a prolific composer, with a number of compositions to his name.
He began his career studying at the Royal College of Music, prior to joining the Carl Rosa Opera Company and the Scottish Orchestra. From there, he went to teach at numerous schools and colleges, teaching his prowess to many budding youngsters.
The Holst Birthplace Museum will give people the chance to see where the legendary composer grew up, while a number or exhibitions are also scheduled.
One of these is a concert by the Bochmann Trio, which will feature music from Beethoven, Holst, Sibelius and Dohnanyi, acting as a charming reminder of the true excellence of Holst's work.
It will take place on April 14th, meaning that it could be the perfect excuse for people to book a spring break in the Cotswolds.
