Guests of hotels in Keswick make show a success

Guests of hotels in Keswick may have been among those attending the Keswick Agricultural Society Show over the bank holiday weekend, which has been hailed a success by organisers.

The event has experienced some problems over recent years, with those staying at Lake District hotels unable to attend since 2007.

A waterlogged show field meant the show was cancelled in 2007 and 2008, while bad weather in 2009 led to £20,000 of losses, meaning it could not be held last year.

However, this year's event benefited from largely good weather and a range of festivities, reports the News & Star.

Spectators were able to see a range of animals on August 29th, as well as a number of judging displays and dogs showing off their skills.

The Keswick Agricultural Show was founded in 1860 and incorporates the Cumbria Championship Sheepdog Competition alongside Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling.
