Hotels in Llangollen to lie within Clwydian Range AONB?
The Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is being extended and may soon be closer to those staying at hotels in Llangollen.
Environment minister John Griffiths has said that around 230 sq km of land in Wrexham and Denbighshire should be included in the area to help protect the landscape.
It would make Clwydian Range the first new AONB in Wales for 26 years.
The Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) made the proposal, which has not been welcomed by all parties in the area.
CCW chairman Morgan Parry explained: "Whilst the designation gives the area the national recognition it deserves, the key to its success will rest with local management."
Anyone staying at luxury hotels in North Wales is invited to the Mince Pie Specials that are being held on the Llangollen Railway from December 26th - January 2nd.
Visitors are taken on board a steam train and treated to a drink and mince pie.
