Keswick Film Festival to begin this month

People weighing up one of the Lake District's luxury spa breaks this month could be persuaded to make a stop at the Keswick Film Festival.

Running between February 23rd and February 26th, the event will boast an excellent variety of 30 British and international films, previews and UK premieres.

This year has a number of themes, including Looking Good, Sounding Good, Feeling Good? and Feeling Very Good!

The first of these is focused on productions from international festivals, while the second will explore intriguing works that have a strong emphasis on music.

On the other hand, Feeling Good? will see a range of uplifting films shown during the festival, whereas Feeling Very Good! will feature a series of the world's best new comedy.

To add to all of the festival's fantastic showings, many guest speakers will be on hand to detail their time in the industry, presenting fans with a unique chance to gain a closer insight into the sector.

One of the many notable appearances will come from John Hurt and his wife Anwen Rees-Myers. Mr Hurt will introduce a number of his films and give visitors the opportunity to learn more about his illustrious career.

Among his accolades are three BAFTA awards and a Golden Globe Award, in addition to two Academy Award nominations.

Tony Britten is another guest who will be appearing at the festival, where he will introduce his first feature film In Love With Alma Cogan. Mr Britten is a composer of film, opera and theatre music and devised the highly successful UEFA Champions League Anthem.

With so many delights on offer at Keswick Film Festival, it is easy to forget about the Lake District's breathtaking scenery, which visitors can enjoy throughout the event's three days.

Therefore, with both entertaining film and beautiful scenery on show, the Lake District could be the perfect choice for people this month.
