Llangollen International Festival scheduled for July

This July will see the Llangollen International Festival take place, acting as an extra reason for people to look through the range of walking holidays in Wales.

North Wales in particular has accrued a reputation as one of the UK's brightest holiday spots, offering a number of excellent attractions and picturesque scenery to provide a tremendous break from people's busy lives.

Thanks to the region's many beautiful walking routes, individuals have ample opportunity to get up close with the incredible countryside, promising a highly relaxing vibe and a charming selection of shops.

One of the events that will be sure to draw in visitors is the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, where a variety of performers will be on hand to provide a number of entertaining shows.

It will take place from July 3rd-8th, making it the perfect reason for a summer break in the area.

The show is steeped in history and has been a key fixture in Wales since the summer of 1947. Over 4,000 entertainers from across the world descend on the town, with song, music and dance specialists set to captivate audiences.

Also, a number of competitions will be taking place, including the Choir of the World contest, where a selection of choirs will compete to win the Pavarotti Trophy.

Among the stars set to appear at the event is Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera theatre performer John Owen-Jones, who will star in the show's grand finale on July 8th.

Commenting on his appearance, Owen-Jones said: "I'm really looking forward to performing at the Llangollen Eisteddfod’s Grand Finale, so much so that I'll be flying in from Dublin especially to sing there.

"Everyone taking part are going to make sure the audience that night go home feeling the Eisteddfod kept the best show for last!"

Among the other performers confirmed to appear at the event are Alfie Boe, Karl Jenkins, Lesley Garrett, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Alison Balsom and Nicola Benedetti.
