An Olympics party has been arranged in North Wales for May 27th in Aberystwyth, marking a great excuse to book one of the luxury spa breaks available in the region.

It is anticipated that thousands of people will attend the event at Vicarage Fields, which has been organised by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) alongside other partners.

These are Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung, which are the three presenting partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.

It is expected that the flame will enter the town at around 18:15GMT on the main A487, where it will then be passed on by a torchbearer along the Penparcau Road to Bridge Street, Great Darkgate Street and on to Terrace Road.

The journey will then continue along Alexandra Road to Plascrug Avenue prior to its scheduled arrival at Vicarage Fields for the party.

Around 100 secondary school pupils from Ceredigion will be performing songs at the show, while Ceredigion Music Service and Theatr Felinfach have developed a 20 minute show that commemorates the region's history and culture.

Rhodri Llwyd Morgan, who is co-ordinating the day's activities on behalf of Ceredigion County Council noted that people in the region are set for a day of excitement.

"Local events are being organised along the Olympic Torch route between Cardigan and Aberystwyth, and the evening show at the end of the road will provide a platform for the very best of young talent," Mr Morgan explained.

As an even bigger bonus, he stated: "There's no need to buy tickets in advance, entry to the Vicarage Fields will be free of charge. Come early to enjoy the fun."

Following the event, visitors to North Wales will still have many other attractions to look forward to, with the area's blissful scenery among the many perks of staying in the region.
