Parking charges scrapped for guests of hotels in the Cotswolds
Anyone staying at hotels in the Cotswolds who wants to explore the area will no longer face parking charges on Sundays and overnight.
The charges had raised some criticism, after it was argued that parking is used by both locals and visitors alike, therefore bringing business to the area.
Bourton, Stow and Moreton were among the popular tourist hotspots that would have been subject to the charges.
Moreton Town Council chairman Rod Hooper told the Cotswold Journal: "I think it's the correct decision.
"I don't feel they should have even considered introducing it in Moreton. They have seen common sense."
The only location where the charges will remain in place is the Brewery car park in Cirencester.
Tourists are attracted to the Cotswolds from far and wide, with many of them checking into hotels near Blenheim Palace to see what the historical location is all about.
Next year it is planning to extend its selection of themed walks.
