Pembrokeshire voted second best costal holiday
Holidaymakers staying in accommodation in Wales are likely to head to Pembrokeshire after it was voted the second best coastal destination in the world.
According to a recent National Geographic poll, out of 99 coastlines, the Welsh town achieved second place along with the Tutukaka Coast in New Zealand.
It faced stiff competition for the title and beat off exotic destinations including the Seychelles, Costa Rica and Bermuda.
The magazine's experts said Pembrokeshire had a "magnificent protected coastline from both ecological and geological perspectives".
Among the other complimentary comments were that its seafood and produce are "culinary treats" - a remark which is likely to entice Wales hotel guests to its local restaurants.
Visitors to Wales next month have been advised to head to its other coastal resort Tenby for its annual Blues Festival between November 12th and 14th 2010, where they can see more than 30 soul acts perform on stage.
