Remarkable wildlife photography on display at The Beacon
Many Britons will be planning a getaway this spring and there are many options available, including a host of guided walking holidays in the Lake District.
Home to some of the UK's best scenery, the area has plenty to offer people who want to escape the busy, commercial nature of the country's city centres and get closer to the nation's fantastic countryside.
Thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, tourists will feel immediately at home in the region, with its endearing community feel certain to put a smile on people's faces.
Walkers of varying ability will be sure to find a trail which suits them, as there are routes for newcomers as well as the experienced, meaning that anyone can get up and close with the Lake District's terrific surroundings.
As soon as people have settled in, they can begin searching for things to do, of which there are many.
One attraction that is certain to draw in visitors is The Beacon, where individuals can witness sensational art compositions and gain an insight into the history of the Lake District area of Copeland.
Running at the venue from March 31st to May 9th will be the Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year display, which is currently on tour from the Natural History Museum.
The Beacon is the first of only two venues in the region which will be hosting the exhibition, enabling visitors to explore a selection of award-winning photography from across the world.
It has much to offer for both photography enthusiasts and animal lovers, with images chosen from thousands of international entries.
Also, the venue has some fantastic displays lined up later in spring, as Martin Widwood's exhibition At The Water's Edge will be running from May 12th to June 24th, giving visitors the chance to see fascinating work from one of the Lake District's own artists.
