Revellers snap up Kendal festival tickets in record time

Hotels in Kendal will no doubt be in high demand as tickets for one of the area's biggest festivals have already sold out.

Although not taking place until the end of July, Kendal Calling Festival has proved as popular as ever, with fans snapping up their tickets faster than ever seen before.

Acts at the 2011 event are set to include the likes of The Cribs, Blondie, House of Pain, Echo & The Bunnymen and The Levellers.

Ben Robinson, director of Kendal Calling, commented: "It's a huge compliment to all those involved that so many of you have got your tickets so early and are warming up for a weekend of country-style fun and frolics."

It recently emerged that people enjoying luxury hotels in the Lake District would soon be able to make the most of a new cafe facility in Hope Park, Keswick, after plans were approved.
