Rolling hills of the Lake District provide scenic golfing backdrop
The English Lake District is known for its beauty, and one way of exploring this is to stay in golfing hotels and prepare the 9-iron for action.
Windermere Golf Club is one course which will give fans of the sport spectacular views while also allowing them to take on the challenges of the greens.
It is referred to as a 'miniature Gleneagles' and golfers will be able to enjoy US PGA-standard greens, as they were all replaced over the past few years.
The club admits that the course is not the longest, which could be perfect for those with an excellent short game.
Keswick Golf Course is another destination to note on the scorecard, with its fairways located on Threlkeld Common.
It measures up at just over 6,200 yards and with a par of 71 ensures that even the best golfers will be in for a challenge from the championship tees.
