Sudeley castle re-opens on April 1st

Sudeley Castle will re-open on April 1st, giving people a tremendous reason to book a one night spa break in the Cotswolds.

The region is renowned for its natural beauty, with luscious greenery and distinctive hills forming a truly unforgettable landscape, while the area's community feel will mean that visitors are welcomed with open arms.

Such is the appeal of the Cotswolds, it has become one of Britain's most popular holiday destinations, attracting all different kinds of people, ranging from individuals who wish to embark on one of the famous trails to history buffs who want to learn more about its decorated past.

A key part of the region's history is Sudeley Castle, which has been present for more than a thousand years, carrying it with it a host of stories relating to the wars and royalty.

However, today it is home to Lord and Lady Ashcombe, Henry and Mollie Dent-Brocklehurst and their families.

The site boasts a number of award-winning gardens, which are among England's finest. Visitors to the premises can look forward to stepping foot in the Queens' Garden, where hundreds of different roses are on display.

The Herbal Healing Garden is the latest addition to the grounds. Brought in for the 2010 season and pays homage to the ancient wisdoms of the castle's former inhabitants.

While the gardens will offer plenty to look at, Sudeley Castle offers even more to guests in the shape of exhibitions, which cover a variety of different topics.

1535: Henry VIII- Romance & Intrigue at Sudeley is one of those showing at the venue, focussing on Henry VIII's visit to the grounds in 1535, with artefacts and colourful murals used to describe the events that occurred during his stay.

Providing both history and enchanting gardens, Sudeley Castle should be considered by anyone visiting the Cotswolds this spring.
