The Prestatyn Walking Festival is ideal for ramblers
There are many options for people who wish to get up close with the countryside in the coming weeks, and one of these is the Prestatyn Walking Festival.
It is ideal for people who are searching for one of the many walking holidays in Wales, with the event providing individuals with a chance to explore the fantastic areas of Prestatyn and Meliden, which have much to offer for those who appreciate natural beauty.
This year's festival will mark its eighth annual year and the event will coincide with the launch of the 870 miles of Wales Coast Path.
Scheduled from Friday May 18th to Sunday May 20th, it will give people three days of excellent walking opportunities and activities which not only offer walkers the chance to gaze at the area's scenic beauty, but also provide the chance to learn more about the local area.
Also, people who are relatively inexperienced should not feel discouraged, as there are a variety of different routes available for visitors to embark on, ranging from the 40 mile Offas Dyke Challenge to shorter, simpler options that will cater for people who are new to the activity.
There are also a range of themed historical walks, giving travellers the opportunity to learn about the heritage of Prestatyn and its significance to Wales as a nation.
In order for people to easily identify the kind of walk which will suit them, the options have been split into different categories. These are Easy Guided Walks, Moderate Guided Walks, Energetic Guided Walks and Very Energetic Guided Walks.
However, while the primary appeal of the festival will be its walking options, there are other activities for people to enjoy, including a Viking exhibition and a presentation on the region's history.
Also, refreshments are available in the event's host venue, where people can re-energise and discuss their adventures with others.
