The second largest library in the UK after the British Library, the ‘Bodley’ is the University’s main research library. Rescued from ruin and reopened in the early 15th Century by Sir Thomas Bodley, a former fellow of Merton College, with some 2,500 books, today the Libraries group houses 11 million printed items and 50,000 e-journals.
