Surrounded by some of England’s most picturesque landscapes – the Lake District to the north, the Dales to the east and the coastline of Morecambe Bay to the west – this beautiful area was immortalised by famous English Romantic landscape painter J. M. W. Turner. It is here that the River Lune meanders through its idyllic woodland setting. A footpath leads to Gray’s Seat, the spot where Turner painted his masterpiece.
