The world’s first iron bridge, an indelible symbol of the Industrial Revolution, lies at the heart of this pretty market town. The former homes of the Victorian Iron Masters and their workers are set either side of the River Severn’s wooded valley, but long gone is the grime and smoke that characterised the Revolution. Walk with the Victorians at Blists Hill Victorian Town or hop aboard the Severn Valley Railway in Bridgnorth.
