Once part of a forest, then, the site of a spa, today the gardens stand as the newest addition to the RHS portfolio. Set in a valley, Harlow Carr covers 68 acres and is one of the longest streamside gardens in the country. There is the 80-foot, glass Alpine House with more than 2,000 different specimens, seven historical gardens charting garden design over the past 200 years, and the Annuals Meadows with its willow-woven sculptures.
