Lying in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where over two thirds of Britain’s flowering plants can be found, Leighton Moss is the largest reedbed in north-west England, with special birds and wildlife aplenty. Hire binoculars to see elusive bitterns, bearded tits, marsh harriers and rare avocets up close. Choose from a selection of nature trails and hides to get right to the heart of the reedbed. From otters to eels, you are encouraged to post your recent sightings in the visitor centre, so that others know what to look out for.
