Sitting quietly on the banks of the River Alde, Snape Maltings is famous for its world-class concert hall – the centre of the Aldeburgh Festival – and unique collection of independent shops and galleries. At its peak, Snape Maltings covered seven acres of buildings and was one of the largest flat floor maltings in the country. Following the decline of large complexes such as this, the Victorian granaries were transformed into a popular attraction on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
