IMPORTANT: Deans Place Hotel is currently closed for refurbishment and will be re-opening January 2025

Deans Place Hotel is set in the charming village of Alfriston in the heart of the Sussex Downs National Park. This 14th-century country house is today a cherished family-run hotel.

Individually designed rooms include the new-look ‘Room 9’ with roll-top bath and 55” TV; ‘Room 6’ with its superking four-poster bed and views over the front lawns; and the double-aspect ‘Room with a View’, looking out across the gardens and Cuckmere Valley. Solo travellers and families of up to five people are well-catered for and many rooms take in countryside views.

A genuine passion for great food shines through at Deans Place – you’ll be treated to unpretentious dining in wonderful surroundings. The menu is bursting with delicious food and flavours, including daily specials. Enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea overlooking the manicured gardens or dine and drink al fresco on warmer days. When the temperature drops, the cosy bar and lounges with open fires invite you to while away a little time.

Four acres of beautiful grounds offer a tranquil retreat for a spot of croquet, pétanque, or a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool. With three paddocks, the hotel can also accommodate horses for guests wishing to ride the South Downs Way.
