Hintlesham Hall's stunning 1720s Georgian façade is matched by its magnificent interiors, of which Carrier is of particular note. Ruched drapes at the windows, an ornate fireplace, gold framed oil paintings, antique furniture, ornamental plasterwork, and a red carpet contrasting with the white walls ensures a regal dining experience. The finest quality ingredients are used to prepare modern British dishes, with herbs freshly picked from Hintlesham Hall’s famous herb garden. The à la carte menu brims with originality. To start, caramelised scallops are served with cauliflower and truffle oil purée, sauternes infused golden sultanas. Main courses demonstrate both restraint and flair. Suffolk pork cooked in three ways sits alongside double baked curried parsnip soufflé, coriander dressing Tronçon of halibut with Thai spices. Desserts include cinnamon parfait served with baked honey and muesli custard, butterscotch sauce. An award-winning, 350-bin wine list, including an excellent handpicked selection of half bottles, complements the à la carte and table d'hôte menus.

Adjacent to Hintlesham Hall Hotel, Hintlesham Golf Club is set amid 150 acres of rolling Suffolk countryside, in the old grounds of the hotel. The course was designed by architects Hawtree & Co., and modified by Walker Cup Captain Peter McEvoy. Part of the front nine plays alongside Home Wood, a beautiful landscaped garden reputed to have inspired the painter Thomas Gainsborough. The course has matured since its opening in 1989 and now features native tree lined fairways and water on the last two holes. The 4th hole, a downhill tee shot guarded by a pond, is a challenging par 3 and measures well over 200 yards. The architectural award-winning clubhouse features a stunning decking area overlooking the course. Hintlesham Golf Club is home of the internationally renowned KC Golf Show, one of the world’s best golf trick shot artists.
