Powerful thing, moments…
We all have moments in our lives that stand out in our memory. Some are defining – they fundamentally change the way we see the world and live our lives. Others are small but meaningful experiences that we return to and treasure…
Pick a magical moment from your menu below then enter our competition and you could win a luxury 2-night break at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club, with your special moment included in your stay. Plus, you could also win a set of ladies and mens Savro watches, courtesy of Kennett.
Your moments menu…
You’ve arrived. Raise a glass of liquid luxury to inaugurate your Edinburgh adventure. Next, head to your room to enjoy melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles. Mmmmm.
With a satisfyingly full stomach, you set out to expore Scotland’s cosmopolitan capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An hour later, you’re standing agape in the Great Hall, at the very heart of Edinburgh’s iconic castle.
While away an hour or two in the cocktail bar. Settle in and savour an Edinburgh single malt. After all, it’s cold outside. And there’s a tartan wingback with your name on it.
You relax your shoulders and place your feet just so. Designed in 1927 by golf legend James Braid (he won the prestigious Open Championship five times), the East Course’s long par 4s provide a real challenge. Great shot!
Why We Love Kennett
They say necessity is the mother of invention, but in Tom Kennett’s case it proved to be the father. In 2009, Tom was toiling with the idea of what to buy his father for his 60th birthday. His father (notoriously hard to buy for) had every gadget you could imagine and was a patented inventor himself. Fortunately, both Tom and his father shared a passion for timepieces and that became the inspiration for Tom to design his very first watch (The Savro). The design attracted widespread praise and the brand ‘Kennett’ was born. Today, the Savro is one of Kennett’s best-selling watches.
Why We Love The Dalmahoy
The Dalmahoy Estate’s illustrious history dates back to the reign of King Alexander III of Scotland. Once the country residence of George Dalrymple, youngest son of the Earl of Stair, the Dalmahoy Hotel has come a long way since the present house was built in the 1720s. Today, a landmark 4-star hotel and golf resort, the Dalmahoy features two splendid 18-hole courses designed by the renowned James Braid. Uniquely, there is still a working farm in the grounds with a nature trail, a lakeside viewing station, and beehives – the hotel makes its very own ‘Dalmahoney’.
