Do something different at an asparagus auction
Visitors staying at luxury hotels in the Cotswolds in search of something different to occupy themselves this half-term may want to stop off at The Fleece in Bretforton.
The pub is the only National Trust-owned of its kind and will be hosting an asparagus auction on May 29th, starting at 18:00 BST.
Funds raised go towards Bretforton's famous Silver Band, with the event often attracting people from far and wide to see what all the fuss is about.
Auctioneer Colin Jelfs will be on hand to make sure proceedings go smoothly, while all the produce on offer is donated by growers from the local area.
Next month sees another event taking place in Worcestershire - its first ever literary festival.
Running from June 17th until the 27th, it may well be worth a visit by those staying at country house hotels in the Cotswolds.
