North Yorkshire hotel visitors urged to head to the coast
Those staying at hotels in North Yorkshire are being urged to take a trip to the coast as part of their holiday, as the region's tourism board seeks to boost visitor numbers.
An advisory group has been established to offer ideas on how to make the region more accessible, while also seeking to ensure people have a great experience.
Janet Deacon, North Yorkshire area director from Welcome to Yorkshire, said that similar projects have been established in other parts of the county, with much success.
"We have representatives on the Board from various parts of the tourism industry and from across Scarborough, Whitby and Filey," she added.
Visitors to North Yorkshire were recently advised by a representative from the Harrogate Tourism Team to head to the spa town for some excellent cuisine.
She pointed out that there is somewhere to eat for everyone, from quaint tea rooms to luxury hotels in North Yorkshire.
