See work of John Piper while at hotels near Blenheim Palace
Fans of the work of John Piper will no doubt be checking into hotels near Blenheim Palace in the New Year, as a special exhibition is to take place.
The display will include his paintings of Blenheim Palace and 11 original watercolours from the property's collection will be seen together for the first time.
Seven of them are not usually on show to the general public and were originally commissioned by the 11th Duke of Marlborough for the Private Apartments.
Piper is said to have been intrigued by many of the great buildings and architecture of England, which he depicted through oils, book illustrations, watercolours, ceramics, prints and stained glass.
A number of his works will be on display during the exhibition, with a particular emphasis on Blenheim Palace.
Guests of luxury hotels in the Cotswolds are able to see the exhibition from February 11th - April 9th 2012.
