Take a trip to Theatre By The Lake this summer

With May well and truly underway, a number of people across the UK will be looking for a one night spa break this summer.

Deciding upon a particular destination can be a very challenging task, as Britain is home to a multitude of splendid locations that suit a variety of different people.

However, one region that has proven particularly popular among Britons is the Lake District, where people can enjoy a selection of fantastic attractions in one of the country's most aesthetically pleasing destinations.

Its mountainous surroundings and charming atmosphere will be sure to delight visitors upon their arrival, and a variety of options are available for individuals who want to explore the stunning environment further.

As well as the Lake District's sensational scenery, the region boasts a number of tremendous events, including Colder Than Here at Theatre By The Lake.

The production will open at the venue on June 8th and its plot will centre on discovering life in the face of death.

Myra is the main focus of the show. She has been given only six months to live and therefore begins planning her funeral comprehensively with the kind of attention-to-detail usually reserved for weddings.

The show has also come in for critical acclaim, with The Sunday Times deeming it a "90 minute masterpiece".

Laura Wade is behind the event, which is seeing its regional premiere on the date, while Abigail Anderson and Thomasin Marshall are assigned as director and designer respectively.

Another show at the venue that could lure in travellers is A Doll's House, which will launch on May 22nd and revolves around one woman, Nora, who fights desperately to save her family after an unwelcome visitor threatens her livelihood.

Nora formulates a secret plan of action that threatens to destroy everything she has, leaving her questioning what it is she is actually fighting for.

A Doll's House is showing at Theatre By The Lakes until November 7th, giving people ample time to see the fantastic show.
