Visitors head to Yorkshire hotels for curry festival
Fans of Indian cuisine are likely to be staying in Yorkshire hotels later this week as the World Curry Festival gets underway.
Between October 1st and 3rd 2010, a variety of events are expected to take place in the county, including tasting tents, demonstrations and cooking lessons in Leeds' Millennium Square.
There will be celebrity guests at the festival, with stars such as the Dragons' Den's James Caan and presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli showing their support for the carnival, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported.
Caan's charity The James Caan Foundation, which helps impoverished people in Pakistan, has been named as the official charity of the curry festival.
Kohli has also confirmed that his show The Nearly Naked Chef will be held at the event for guests to enjoy an evening of curry and comedy.
Visitors staying in hotels in Yorkshire will be able to taste different curries from countries around the world including some from Asia, Africa, Europe and the US.
Yorkshire hotel guests will also have the opportunity to explore the Market Place, where they can pick up spices and ingredients from local suppliers.
