The Devil’s Porridge Museum tells the story of the greatest munitions factory on Earth and the bravery of the extraordinary people who worked there. Stretching for nine miles, at its peak (1917) HM Factory Gretna produced 1,100 tons of RDB Cordite explosive per week – more than all the other munitions plants in Britain combined. The state-of-the-art museum offers visitors the opportunity to experience life in a World War One trench and explore the factory to discover what life was like for the munitions girls.
