Visit Local Towns

Wales is full of quaint market towns and the area around Lake Vyrnwy is no different; the towns of Welshpool and Oswestry are the two closest to the hotel and are unique in the charm that they offer. Head to Welshpool for Georgian architecture and Castle Powis Castle, if you have time take a look at the small but mighty Powysland Museum. Pop over the border to Oswestry, the town that originated as a Stone Age hill fort and has grown into a tourist attraction in it’s own right. With it’s own World Heritage Site (Pontcysyllte Aqueduct), steam railways and historic buildings; you won’t be short of things to do.
