Discover our romantic Salisbury hotels in the beating heart of this historic city.

Salisbury was recently declared one of the Lonely Planet’s Top 10 Cities in the Best in Travel for 2015. Crowned by a Early English Gothic Cathedral with the tallest spire in Britain, it’s easy to see why. The medieval City has a colourful market and arts scene, award-winning museums and galleries, and a plethora of half-timbered buildings.

If you don’t believe us, explore the Salisbury Museum and England’s largest independent art gallery, Fisherton Mill. Or enjoy a concert at Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival. A visit to Mompesson House, the Queen Anne-style setting for Mr Jennings’ London home in the film ‘Sense and Sensibility,’ is an equally delightful way to spend an afternoon.

Set within eight acres of grounds and featuring a 123-metre-high spire, visitors to the 13th Century Salisbury Cathedral can climb the 332 steps to the base of its spire to enjoy spectacular views of the City’s water meadows. The cathedral is home to the best preserved Magna Carta (AD 1215) of only four original copies and the world’s oldest mechanical clock.

If over 750 years of history doesn’t impress, then, just eight miles from Salisbury is the iconic prehistoric monument and World Heritage Site, Stonehenge. Alternatively, Wilton House, with opulent interiors and a world-famous art collection, and Wilton Shopping Village are just 3 miles away and the New Forest is a 20 minute drive.
