Classic British hospitality – taking care of business
We appreciate that your meeting has a distinct purpose and a desired outcome. To depart from a problem. And arrive at a solution. To bring people together with a shared sense of purpose so as to drive results. Whilst we can’t solve your business objectives for you, we can catalyse that all-important fresh perspective and flexible thinking. That’s why our collection of hotels provide what you’ve come to expect from thoughtful 4-star hospitality, whilst also offering hotel and resort experiences that are a far cry from your everyday.
That could mean taking a tour around Cambridge in one of the classic Bentleys (electric powered), or a Wensum river cruise aboard the private launch. Or getting our hotel’s double decker bus (Agatha, for the insatiably curious) out for some exercise in ‘God’s Own Country’. It could even mean visiting one of our on-site water sports centres – taking to the Thames à la Bond or a more languorous affair on becalmed Lake Windermere.
Unique on-site activities
Clay shooting, fly fishing, Highland games (haggis hurling et al), fireworks, chocolate fountains, you name it. You can join a working artists’ pottery studio on-site to create a ceramic masterpiece of your very own. Or connect with nature (again, on-site) through a guided walk in beautiful woodland, experiencing the ancient practice of ‘Shinrin-Yoku’ (forest bathing).
If you’d prefer something a little more conventionally rejuvenating, then, we have an embarrassing hoard of 5-bubble destination spas. So take a dip in one of five experience pools in the North East of England, be pampered by ESPA in a Victorian wellness villa in the heart of a world-famous heritage city, or lie back on a heated lounger (in a tepidarium; we know our thermal suites) and soak up the stunning lake views to the mountain range beyond.
Corporate golf days
Corporate golf days could see you play at any number of our golf hotels and resorts, too. On the Essex/Suffolk border, for instance, at our England Golf Championship Venue, home to the James Andrews Golf School. Or conveniently located within close proximity to Birmingham International Airport and The NEC, and host of the British Par 3 Championship. Play all 36 holes designed by renowned golf course architect, James Braid. Tee off in the world’s first nature reserve, in North Yorkshire, or on an uplands links course, former Welsh Golf Club of the Year, designed by the legendary 6 times Open Champion, Harry Vardon.
Enabling a successful in-person event isn’t just the skilled work of our meeting professionals, it’s also the craft (part art, part science) of Classic British hospitality. Something we passionately practice, perfect and pioneer. You see, experiences set us apart. They make the difference between a meeting and that meeting. Noteworthy.
